ranting #1

today, well i guess it was really yesterday, i finally had time before work to watch some news. it was hard i ended up crying. my thoughts and prayers are going out to those poor families involved with the school shooting. all those children just starting life and it being cut so short. they interviewed on of the people affected from the columbine shooting and he said from what he's learned from all the meetings he's spoke at in schools is that his generation doesn't value life like his parents do. this is a sad thought but we as a society need to really think about what is going on with our young people. there's a lot of violence in our lives and in schools these days and we need to teach them values.we have to at some point say enough is enough and take a stand. i don't have children but i'm thankful i don't because i feel like everything is so out of control everything. what happened to just doing good deeds for someone or doing something and not exspecting money in return? making memories with families and freinds...eating dinner at the table with no tv and no cell phones? try taking a phone away from a teenager...when people come to visit ask them to leave their phone in the car. call me crazy' say i'm being ridiculous but i just feel like society is going in the wrong direction.

open house weekend

if you are in the area this weekend make sure you come to groovy girl's yarn shop the open house is sat and sun 11-6. i have been on vaca this week and the plan was for me to craft and get lots done well i crafted but didn't get lots done. i had all this stuff i wanted to create and it just didn't happen. i thought about pulling an all nighter but now i'm to tired so im goin to bed. if it's not done now then it will just have to wait. i will take orders and send them out when completed. i have done some knitting needle rolls i had 3 started and 2 complete and wanted to make ipad covers and crochet hook pockets but no such luck.

happenings...

i'm on vaca this week gettin ready for groovy girl's yarn shop open house this weekend. i'm super excited about it , lots of new people will be coming and i know it will be a huge success. i've been working on needle rolls for knitting needles and i'm working on some hook rolls or pockets i haven't decided which it will be. also working on some ipad covers and some new ornaments. lots goin on here in my space. i have seen a lot of wood board christmas trees and thought i might go out to my bro's workshop and try to make a couple for the show this weekend he tons of old barn and scrape wood. (if i make any today i will post a pic tonight. 

i changed the look of my blog trying to get into the spirit i'm kind of a bah humbug girl the header came from pinterest i did a search for trees and it came up i was gunna share the link but i can't get the blog to load.

i hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this time of year.

my crazy ipad still wont let me post...but anyways work is crazy we are gearing up for cbristmas and i dont even want to tbink about it yet. i have a show coming up tbe first week in december check out groovy girl yarn for all the details. im working on some needle folds for those cbicks with sticks and holing to get sone ipad covers done. i need to get mktivaged to do some stuff i bave peopke counting on  me. wanting to do some stuff with suitcases and maybe paint a couple of things. i have a ton of ideas and just need to make thi gs happen. hope everyone is safe after the hurricane has moved through.

hello there...

i've been trying to post for some time now but have been having problems with the blog app on my ipad...sometimes technology is a pain in the you know what!!! so i got the laptop out and had to use it which is fine but it's way easier to post pics and i have more on my ipad than on the laptop.

any who things are looking up here on the porch my boss is getting happier about the store and my inventory numbers came back and they were down so work is not as stressful. i just need to find my creative spark again i have ideas and get all my supplies together and want to start stuff and then that's where it fizzles.

Well in the middle of this post the laptop crashed and won't load any of my prework so I'm posting this from my phone. The pic is a cell photo so I hope you can see it. The pair in the middle came from the postman today so I'm super excited!!
This is just how things have been going for me since I started my vaca on wed I haven't gotten a thing done.

Btw for anyone in Indiana come see us in the cabin for the fall open house tomorrow from 3-10 pm. Go to Beth's main street folkart blog or more details. I hope everyone is doing well and I will post again tomorrow night.

I had inventory last night it has been a long 2 days. I went in at noon yesterday and got off at 6:20 this morning. I'm a little pooped but I wanted to post I haven't been here in a couple of weeks sorry for the absences.

The weather here today got cool and it feels like fall so now I'm in the mood for sweaters and layers oh and of course my boots...

More twins

Another set of twins were delivered today...they haven't been named yet. I have a few names in mind but thought maybe I would take them out, have a few adventures and then maybe decide. What do you think any ideas?




They are a little snug so I hope they stretch out some. My feet are so big and they sold out of the 10. :,,,(

Sunday samplings

Well of course I had to go to work today for a few hours...but I didn't let it ruin my day!!!

This is some of my inspiration for today. You can't really see the bracelet under the white one but I wrapped it with some of my kaffe fassett's fabric and will be doing the same with the white one. Also I started about a month ago some bracelets with wool and trimmings one them hopefully I will get them posted later this week.



I already had the inspiration to make these but got motivated to get them done because I had to go to work today and we got these in...


Which is exactly what my idea was and had started on the wool bracelets but hadn't had time to start the fabric ones so today I made time.

I think this could be another birds of a feather project maybe...what do you think?

I just need to make time for the important stuff I have really wanted to do something with my birds of a feather idea and always think to myself I can't I don't have time well that needs to change.

Takin some time...

Those of you who follow my blog religiously probably have noticed I haven't been around much. I haven't been in a good place for awhile now. Work has me really stressed out and anxious feeling like it's just never good enough is taking a toll on my spirit. I haven't been creating or doing anything with my art so I feel like my talent is slipping away. I have decided it would be best if I just pop in to this space and just post a few pics or maybe a line or two. It's back to school time at work and then I have inventory so I'm pretty busy. Also I told my gurl over at "groovy girl art" I would teach a wool appliqué class at the end of the month so I will post pics as I get the projects done.

Owl pins

The colors are off a little and it's hard to tell the true colors so I will try to get better pics but these hand pressed clay pins are for sale...




These thin little guys are just $7.50 and measure about 1 inch. The one on the left is a light mint green with silver brushed on the details and the other is a plum color with silver detailing.



These guys are much thicker and measure just a little over an inch and are $15.00. Shipping fees are $2.50.
The left side is a deep plum with silver detailing, the top one is light mint green with silver detailing, the middle is a deep rose color and the bottom one is a pale pink with copper detailing.

Mtg day ={

So for work I'm in Ohio for a meeting ALL day but the sad part is...we are 10 minutes from tipp city, Ohio. If you haven't been to this little town it's the cutest little place to go antiquing and the coldwater cafe has the best food. There's even a cute little coffee shop with comfy chairs and sofas to get a cup of Joe or a hot tea. So anyway I will be wishing all day to get out early to go and check things out again.
P.s. It is also the place where the workt by hand workshop is held. I hope everyone has a great day.

Birdies

An update on the birdies all 3 hatched and now they are getting some feathers. They are chirping now but I don't think their eyes are open. It's hard to get a picture and they are laying on top of each other.




You can barely see the beak on one of them on the edge of the nest.
