Stool contest

This is the before pics of my stool...after 2 coats of paint and some new fabric...




So I took this little guy up and entered him into the stool contest at groovy girl yarn I think he turned out pretty good.



And then yesterday the other half, my mom and pops and I went out to my bros to work in the wood shop to use this...



To make a cool bench out of a small cabinet door I have. My pops started teaching me how to use all the power tools ( jig saw, table saw and circular saw) and I'm in love. He also taught me how to read the ruler so I would know what every single line stands for, I'm not sure that I will caught on to that unless I measure a lot of stuff to get practice.

I hope everyone is warm and cozy cuz it's freezing here 9 degrees as of right now.

Today's happenings with re and de...

Ok so today is all about the de and re... Declutter, destash, rework, redo, repurpose, and reorganize. I have enough clothes to cloth on the low end 100 people for the next 30 days and not wear any of the items twice!!! To many years in retail I think. So obviously this is not my pile but...

This weather is craziness...it was 50 degrees yesterday morning and rain, today it's 19 and snow and by tomorrow night they are saying snow and temps around zero with wind chills at 10-16 below. WTH I say my rug rats are freezing!!! They look at me and I know they are saying "tell me again why you got me a hair cut and cut all my hair off?"

Any whoo...I did some painting yesterday and like I said I need to take mor pics because I only took one before pic and that's it. I have spray painted some owls white and they turned out way cute!!! I have 2 more to do so I'll get a before pic of them to post. I also have been painting some wood hangers I got in some bright colors. They are turning out really cut too. I also painted a small mirror. I'm trying to get ready for the winter woolen workshop coming up in February. It's a sat and sun show $10 to get in it covers both days and all the processed go to the historical society. It will be an awesome event because there will be all kinds of demos going on you will see people quilting, spinning yarn, rug hooking, rug punch, punch needle, felting and hand stitching. I am super excited about this show it processed go to a good cause and the people that do this show are amazing if you or someone you know are wanting to learn some kind of handwork this is the place to come because the knowledge of the people at this show is endless. So the ipad ap store got the blogging ap fixed and now I can blog on the iPad but the thing about it is all the pictures are put at the end of the post with no text in between. I'm enjoin my time off gettin ready to do a show in febuary the winter woolen workshop. I'm super excited I am really changing up my style more brights and funky stuff. I will post pics as I get some stuff done I have a few things painted but not ready for pics yet. Found this elephant pic and love it...the fabric I think would be lovely as a scarf...what do you think? Well any woo I gotta go I'm helping a friend move and I might be late if I don't get goin. Hope everyone has great day.

Reflecting...

Chasing the sun this morning some of the reflections in the house were very pretty...

it's been a week...

so one of the major things that has happened is i quit my job last friday. i just walked out i had had enough. it's been a long time comin i haven't been happy for awhile and i am sick of retail and especially retail management. of coarse i'm kinda freakin out now because it wasn't planned i just did it on a whim but the good thing is my other half is supporting me 100%. we are going to have to change our life style and cut back in order to make ends meet but i feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
i'm hoping to have more time to do some of the things i love and i have a lot of ideas brewing in my head. one of my high school friends has a booth at the big antique store in town (treasure mart) and she said i could put some stuff in her booth so i'm doin my spring claening and gettin rid of some stuff. i know (one of my friends said) it's not spring but because of all my years in retail we do the spring cleaning in jan so now thats when i always do it at home. i want to take more pictures and set up displays and get my photography better i also want to learn a few new things so i will have a lot to keep my busy because one of my rooms looks like a hoarders closet i have way to many clothes.
i have been looking for a new job and hope i don't have to go back to retail but if i do it will not be as a store manager and i hope it will be a different kind of retail. 'm not gunna lie i'm scared to death what if i can't find anything jobs are so hard to come by these days but i'm having faith and staying positive.
my friends told me the other day that i've hit my reset button that i'm at a point in my life where i'm ready for a change and i've taken the leap and hit the button. so anyway this is the major thing that's goin on in my life right now as more changes come i will keep everyone posted but for right now i'm enjoyin some time off and the little guys are lovin me being home with them.
i hope everything is goin good with all of you out there in blogland.

2013 change...

2013 I think will be the year of change for me. I'm going start posting pictures of some of my changes, events, challenges and happenings during my days.
I also am doing more with my craft...one of my friends is letting me put a few things in her booth at treasure mart which is a 4 story old brick building with 3 stories just full of antiques and some junk. I love junkin..given something a new life
Also with having some extra time on my hands i am going to do some things I've missed doing.

sad news

life is so precious...i was saddened to hear one of my friends and co worker lost a family member this weekend. he was young driving back to school and had a car accident. you just don't know whats in store each day for your life so make every day count and tell your loved one that you love them.

changes

so it's been awhile since i've posted i kind of have had a lot going on at work. there are some changes goin on in my life right now but i'm not ready to talk about them yet but i will at some point.i'm kind of scared but also excited about them. i just wanted to pop in and let you all know i was still around i probably will just do picture posts or small little glimpses into my daily life.
i hope all of you are doing okay in the new year and life is good for you.

FIRST POST OF THE YEAR AND I HOPE EVERYIBE HAD A SAFE AND HAPPY NEW YEARS. I'M FEELIN A LITTLE OFF TODAY NOT SURE WHAT IT IS MAYBE GETTING SICK BUT I JUST WANTED TO POP IN TO LET EVERYONE KNOW I'M STILL HERE.

ranting #1

today, well i guess it was really yesterday, i finally had time before work to watch some news. it was hard i ended up crying. my thoughts and prayers are going out to those poor families involved with the school shooting. all those children just starting life and it being cut so short. they interviewed on of the people affected from the columbine shooting and he said from what he's learned from all the meetings he's spoke at in schools is that his generation doesn't value life like his parents do. this is a sad thought but we as a society need to really think about what is going on with our young people. there's a lot of violence in our lives and in schools these days and we need to teach them values.we have to at some point say enough is enough and take a stand. i don't have children but i'm thankful i don't because i feel like everything is so out of control everything. what happened to just doing good deeds for someone or doing something and not exspecting money in return? making memories with families and freinds...eating dinner at the table with no tv and no cell phones? try taking a phone away from a teenager...when people come to visit ask them to leave their phone in the car. call me crazy' say i'm being ridiculous but i just feel like society is going in the wrong direction.

open house weekend

if you are in the area this weekend make sure you come to groovy girl's yarn shop the open house is sat and sun 11-6. i have been on vaca this week and the plan was for me to craft and get lots done well i crafted but didn't get lots done. i had all this stuff i wanted to create and it just didn't happen. i thought about pulling an all nighter but now i'm to tired so im goin to bed. if it's not done now then it will just have to wait. i will take orders and send them out when completed. i have done some knitting needle rolls i had 3 started and 2 complete and wanted to make ipad covers and crochet hook pockets but no such luck.

happenings...

i'm on vaca this week gettin ready for groovy girl's yarn shop open house this weekend. i'm super excited about it , lots of new people will be coming and i know it will be a huge success. i've been working on needle rolls for knitting needles and i'm working on some hook rolls or pockets i haven't decided which it will be. also working on some ipad covers and some new ornaments. lots goin on here in my space. i have seen a lot of wood board christmas trees and thought i might go out to my bro's workshop and try to make a couple for the show this weekend he tons of old barn and scrape wood. (if i make any today i will post a pic tonight. 

i changed the look of my blog trying to get into the spirit i'm kind of a bah humbug girl the header came from pinterest i did a search for trees and it came up i was gunna share the link but i can't get the blog to load.

i hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this time of year.

my crazy ipad still wont let me post...but anyways work is crazy we are gearing up for cbristmas and i dont even want to tbink about it yet. i have a show coming up tbe first week in december check out groovy girl yarn for all the details. im working on some needle folds for those cbicks with sticks and holing to get sone ipad covers done. i need to get mktivaged to do some stuff i bave peopke counting on  me. wanting to do some stuff with suitcases and maybe paint a couple of things. i have a ton of ideas and just need to make thi gs happen. hope everyone is safe after the hurricane has moved through.

hello there...

i've been trying to post for some time now but have been having problems with the blog app on my ipad...sometimes technology is a pain in the you know what!!! so i got the laptop out and had to use it which is fine but it's way easier to post pics and i have more on my ipad than on the laptop.

any who things are looking up here on the porch my boss is getting happier about the store and my inventory numbers came back and they were down so work is not as stressful. i just need to find my creative spark again i have ideas and get all my supplies together and want to start stuff and then that's where it fizzles.

Well in the middle of this post the laptop crashed and won't load any of my prework so I'm posting this from my phone. The pic is a cell photo so I hope you can see it. The pair in the middle came from the postman today so I'm super excited!!
This is just how things have been going for me since I started my vaca on wed I haven't gotten a thing done.
